'True Blood' exec's Cinemax series 'Banshee' casts leads

True Blood writer Alan Ball

True Blood creator Alan Ball's new Cinemax series Banshee has cast three regulars.

Matt Servitto, Trieste Dunn and Daniel Ross Owens will all star in the 10-part series, according to Deadline.

Banshee - written by Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler - will focus on a criminal with martial arts expertise who poses as a murdered sheriff to dish out his own brand of justice.

Harry's Law actor Servitto will play long-serving sheriff's deputy Brock Lotus, while Dunn - who has appeared on Brothers & Sisters and Fringe - will portray spirited female deputy Siobhan Kelly.

Owens will star as Dan Kendall, a young idealist who becomes the mayor of Banshee.

Greg Yaitanes - who serves as an executive producer and director on House - will helm the Banshee series premiere.

The show was picked up for a full series in January and will begin shooting this spring in and around Charlotte, North Carolina. It will debut on Cinemax in 2013.
