In the clip, Winfrey acknowledges the toll Houston's death has taken on her family, saying: "The world lost an icon, they lost a mother and a sister."
The talkshow host also sat down with Houston's brother Gary Houston and sister-in-law Patricia to discus Whitney's troubled relationship with ex-husband Bobby Brown.
"As a big brother how did you feel about Bobby Brown?" Winfrey is shown asking Gary in the preview.
Winfrey's interview with the Houston family will be broadcast on her cable network OWN and will be preceded with a re-airing of the presenter's 2009 chat with Whitney.

OWN previously released a statement disclosing details of the new special: "Bobbi Kristina shares personal memories of her mum and how she would like the iconic superstar to be remembered. The family also addresses the rumours and speculation surrounding Houston's death."
The Bobbi Kristina interview on Oprah's Next Chapter will air on Sunday, March 11 at 9pm.
