The show's producers are reportedly so keen to work with the Maroon 5 frontman that they are shooting around his summer touring schedule.

Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe and Sarah Paulson are among the programme's original stars who will be returning in different roles in the second season.

Executive producer Ryan Murphy previously revealed that the new run will be set on the East Coast and in a "horror institution".

Season two of American Horror Story will air on FX later this year.
