The upcoming pilot is a remake of the 1960s sitcom about a family of 'monsters' which includes a female cousin, Marilyn, who doesn't share the others' 'unusual' characteristics.
Marilyn is a college student who believes in good manners and often doesn't see eye-to-eye with her grandfather (Eddie Izzard), but gets along well with her other relatives.
Deadline reports that British actress Wakefield will fill the role of Marilyn, which was played by Pat Priest in the original series.
Mockingbird Lane's pilot is written by Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) and will be directed by X-Men's Bryan Singer.
Izzard recently revealed that the Munsters reboot will be a drama instead of a comedy.
"If you know where The Addams Family went from a sitcom to a romantic comedy [when it was remade], ours is going to [change] even more so - but in a different place," he explained. "I think it's going to be way darker than people expect."
