'Kick-Ass' Christopher Mintz-Plasse cast in CBS Groupon comedy

Kick-Ass star Christopher Mintz-Plasse has been cast as the lead in new CBS comedy pilot Friend Me.

The Superbad actor will play a character named Evan, who moves to Los Angeles and begins working at Groupon with his best friend Rob (Nicholas Braun).

Friend Me, which is written by Raising Hope producer Alan Kirschenbaum and Ajay Sahgal, represents Mintz-Passe's first major TV role.

The 22-year-old is also starring alongside Braun in CBS movie Get a Job.

The project counts Bryan Cranston, Anna Kendrick, Miles Teller and Brandon T Jackson among its cast.

Mintz-Plasse has also been tipped by Pineapple Express writer Evan Goldberg to star in a sequel to the film as his Superbad character McLovin.
