US network NBC has struck a deal with Cablevision allowing the cable company to show premium content as part of its video-on-demand service.

The move will mean hit shows like The Office and Law and Order will be made available a day after they first air to Cablevision's subscribers in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.

The cable operator will charge $0.95 per show rental.

Cablevision has toyed with with fee-based VOD before, offering Fox's 24 and FX's The Shield in 2003.

NBC and CBS already have VOD content deals with Comcast and NBC also has a deal with satellite service DirecTV.
