Chase, who plays Pierce on the NBC comedy, was previously involved in a feud with series creator Dan Harmon, later branding the comedy "a mediocre f**king sitcom" in a string of abusive voicemails.
Asked if Chase is still part of the show, McHale told KIIS-FM's On Air with Ryan Seacrest: "Oh, yeah! Well, we still don't have the fourth season pick-up, but we'll see how that all works out."
He quipped: "Maybe if we get picked up Chevy should leave another curse-ridden voicemail!"
McHale, who plays Jeff Winger, added that the cast of Community have been enjoying "good times" despite the controversy.
"I thought [the voicemails] would bring ratings in, but maybe they need to release some more," he joked.
Chase previously admitted that he is still "happy" and has "a lot of fun" on the show.
"It's a great group of people in every way - cast, directors, writers," he said. "I find it very amusing and fun."
Community airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.
