Raising Hope showed encouraging signs as the Fox sitcom bowed out with nearly four million viewers on Wednesday (April 18) night.

Airing at 9.30pm, season two finale 'I Want My Baby Back, Baby Back, Baby Back' pulled in 3.9m (1.9), up week-on-week unlike the majority of last night's programming.

NCIS, CBS's only new broadcast of the night, dipped to 17.6m (3.0) at 8pm.

Last Man Standing (6.4m/1.6), Cougar Town (4.6m/1.4) and Private Practice (6.8m/1.7) all recorded their lowest ever audiences for ABC.

Reality shows in contrast were more resilient, with the Alphabet network's Dancing with the Stars (13.8m/2.4) and NBC's Biggest Loser (6.9m/2.2) both rising.

However, The Voice slipped two tenths to 8.8m (3.3) at 9pm and Fashion Star suffered an even sharper drop with 4.4m (1.5).

Elsewhere, Ringer rose to 1.2m (0.5) for its finale on The CW in the 9pm hour.
