Eureka has been picked up for a second season by the Sci Fi channel in America.

The show, which stars Coupling's Colin Ferguson, got off to a good start when its debut was watched by over 4m viewers, making it the most watched episode of a Sci Fi original series in the channel's history. Season-long, it has shone in the 18-49 and 25-54 demographics.

Season two will go into production next spring, with Sci Fi expecting to bring new episodes back to its schedule next summer.
