The new programme was trailed during American Idol on Wednesday night (May 2) and will blend elements of The Voice's "blind auditions" format with speed dating.
Fox's president of alternative entertainment Mike Darnell said in a statement: "We wanted to put a new spin on the dating game show that gives celebrities 'the choice' of a lifetime and the chance to prove you really shouldn't judge a book by its cover."
Four celebrity bachelors will sit in rotating chairs for the first round of the show as potential suitors make a pitch. If a bachelor is impressed, he will pull the "love handle" on his chair and turn around to see the contestant for the first time.
If more than one man chooses to spin around, the contestant then gets to choose a bachelor for the second round.
The remainder of the competition takes a speed-dating format, as Deeley challenges three hopefuls per bachelor to win the affections of the celebrity contestant.
Fox has also confirmed that one episode of The Choice's six-episode run will feature four female celebrity contestants.
The Choice will premiere on June 7 at 9/8c after the US debut of Take Me Out, hosted by comedian and talkshow host George Lopez. Celebrity participants are to be confirmed in due course.
