The networks said today (May 7) that their as-yet-unnamed service will be aimed at Latinos, but broadcast in English, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Univision president Cesar Conde said of the new channel: "This joint venture is an extension of our vision to deliver the most relevant news and information, regardless of language, to all Hispanics."
The channel's primary subject matter will be the impact of politics, the economy and education on the Hispanic community.
ABC and Univision's new project is expected to begin releasing social media content this summer, with a full roll-out planned for 2013.
Staff are expected to be announced in the coming months.
