The first trailer for Sigourney Weavers's USA show Political Animals has been released.
The clip introduces the major players from Brothers and Sisters creator Greg Berlanti's drama, which focuses on former First Lady turned Secretary of State Elaine Barrish Hammond (Weaver) and her struggle to keep her family together.
In the video, the actress's character comments: "I don't think ego has anything to do with it. For me I've always put everything I am into what I'm doing.
"I took this job as Secretary of State because I feel I can make a difference. Eleanor Roosevelt, Cleopatra, Elizabeth the First. That's the kind of company I want to keep."
Among the other characters seen in the Political Animals trailer are ex-President and Elaine's ex-husband Donald Hammond (Ciarán Hinds), ambitious reporter Susan Berg (Carla Gugino), Elaine's mother Margaret (Ellen Burstyn) and her sons Douglas (James Wolk) and TJ (Sebastian Stan).
The fictional siblings were previously described as polar opposites, with Stan's character saying of life in the White House: "I go to sleep at night and hope to wake up in some house where 300 million people didn't have an opinion on whether I like to kiss girls or boys."
Adrian Pasdar and Dylan Baker are also among the cast, portraying the incumbent President and Vice President respectively.
Political Animals has been confirmed to air on USA from Sunday, July 15.
