'Damages': Final season teaser debuts - watch video

DirecTV has unveiled the first promo for the final season of Damages.

The legal drama - starring Glenn Close and Rose Byrne - will conclude after five seasons.



The new video clip features lawyer Ellen Parsons (Byrne) prone on the floor, apparently dead or badly injured.

Ryan Phillippe, Jenna Elfman, John Hannah and Victor Garber will all appear in the new season.

Damages co-creator Glenn Kessler previously insisted that that he knows how the show will end, promising that the relationship between Ellen and Patty Hewes (Close) will reach a "satisfying" conclusion.

"We always envisioned the series as being an exploration of that relationship, and we have a sense of what the endpoint of that relationship would be," he said.

"Once we know we're going to end the series, we will end that relationship in a way that's satisfying and hopefully enjoyable for the audience."

Damages returns to DirecTV's Audience Network on July 11 at 9/8c.
