The Kathy Bates legal drama's last ever episode, 'Onward and Upward', logged just 5.7m and a demo rating of 5.8m (0.7) in the 8pm hour, clearly justifying NBC's decision to axe the show after two seasons.
Meanwhile, Fox's NASCAR coverage scored 6.9m (2.1) between 8pm and 11pm, meaning the Rupert Murdoch network won the night in the metered markets as well as total viewers.
Elsewhere, NYC 22 pulled in 4.4m (0.7) for CBS in the 10pm hour, descending considerably on its last instalment at the start of the month.
The Tiffany Network's stalwart news magazine programme 60 Minutes grabbed 6m (0.7) in the 7pm hour.
Overall, Fox topped primetime over NBC, while ABC beat CBS despite the former airing repeats all night.
