Susan Lucci's rejected pilot Devious Maids is being considered by the Lifetime network, it has been reported.

Produced by Desperate Housewives showrunner Marc Cherry, the pilot was based on a Mexican format and followed four ambitious maids working for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills.

It starred Lucci alongside Grant Show and Ana Ortiz, but failed to receive a pickup from any major networks.

Sources tell Entertainment Weekly that Cherry is in preliminary talks with Lifetime for a possible full season pickup for the coming fall season.

Lifetime has recently picked up the reality show Houston Family Chronicles, which will star the extended family of late singer Whitney Houston.

Lindsay Lohan will also play Elizabeth Taylor in the television movie Liz & Dick for the network.

Former True Blood actor Grant Bowler has been cast opposite Lohan as Richard Burton.
