The 6-year-old, who gave herself the nickname 'Honey Boo Boo', will appear in six half-hour episodes of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo with the rest of her family.
The network claimed that the show will focus on Thompson's life in Georgia away from child pageants.
The series will also feature appearances from Thompson's mum June, father Sugar Bear and sisters Lauryn "Pumpkin", 12, Jessica "Chubbs", 15, and Anna "Chickadee", 17, who is pregnant.
TLC, which suggested that the show will see Thompson "four-wheeling through mud pits and picking up road kill for the family cookout", claimed that Here Comes Honey Boo Boo will "take us off the pageant stage and into the unapologetically outrageous family life of the Honey Boo Boo clan".
The Thompson family has come under criticism for giving Alana "Go-Go juice", a caffeinated drink used to give her more energy before pageants.
Desperate Housewives star Vanessa Williams, a previous Miss America, recently criticised the practice.
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is due to premiere on TLC in August.
