The new NBC comedy stars Perry as Ryan King, a sports radio host who loses his wife in a tragic accident and later bonds with the members of his therapy group.
Cho guest starred in the show's pilot as King's boss who assigns him to therapy and will continue to appear on a regular basis, TVLine reports.
The Star Trek actor last played a regular TV role on ABC's short-lived FlashForward and has also appeared in episodes of How I Met Your Mother, Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty.
He recently reprised his role as Hikaru Sulu in forthcoming film sequel Star Trek 2.
NBC recently announced that Go On will premiere on Wednesday, August 8, following Olympic Games coverage. The show will then move to its regular timeslot of Tuesdays at 9pm from September 11.
