The NBA Finals' fifth game was the most-watched and best-rated broadcast in primetime last night (Thursday).

Miami v Oklahoma scored a strong 15.5m (6.4) for ABC between 9pm and 11pm, shrugging off all competition.

Jimmy Kimmel Live, airing in preview of the basketball, entertained 6.7m (2.4) at 8pm.

The NBA Countdown had 8.7m (3.5) at 8.30pm, meaning the Alphabet Network reigned victorious in every peak time slot.

A Big Bang Theory repeat did well with 8.2m (2.2) for CBS at 8pm, after which old editions of 2 Broke Girls (7.3m/2.1), Person of Interest (7m/1.4) and The Mentalist (6.2m/1.1) aired to respectable audiences.

Over on Fox, Take Me Out climbed to 3.1m (1.2) at 8pm, and The Choice dipped to 4.2m (1.5) an hour later.

Meanwhile, Breaking Pointe - The CW's only original programme - recorded an average of 908k (0.3) for the network in the 8pm junction.
