Charles Eglee has promised that his work developing The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman's Thief of Thieves for AMC will not derail the FX television adaptation, reports Comic Book Resources.
"Unfortunately, the announcement of Thief of Thieves this last week was interpreted by a lot of people that that somehow put Powers in limbo, and that's not the case at all," Eglee told Nerdist. "We're actively moving forward with [Powers]."
He said that three scripts are awaiting approval before the pilot is reshot.
Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's creator-owned series has been caught up in a lengthy development process on the route to the small screen.
Eglee said that the first season will feature an ongoing investigation based on the original 'Who Killed Retro Girl?' story arc, with "weekly stories, self-contained narratives in each episode".
Bendis and Oeming will relaunch their comic series as Powers: Bureau in July.
