Marilyn Manson to play himself on 'Californication'

Marilyn Manson has signed on to appear on an upcoming episode of Showtime's Californication.

The show stars David Duchovny as Hank Moody, a hedonistic novelist battling personal demons. Madeline Zima, Evan Handler and Pamela Adlon also star.



According to The Hollywood Reporter, Manson will appear as himself on the seventh episode of the forthcoming season.

Manson will apparently have a run-in with Duchovny's character at the house of Atticus Fetch, played by Tim Minchin.

The rocker recently released new album Born Villain, and is also gearing up for a feature film role in Vampires of Hollywood.

Californication ended its fifth season in April, and production on season six began in May.

The show is expected to return in 2013.
