It's the only time you'll ever get Doctor Who, Bella and Edward from Twilight and 500 Iron Man lookalikes in the same building. Yes, San Diego Comic-Con's five-day spectacular kicks off today and hardcore TV, movie, gaming and comics fans will be heading to the West Coast of the US to pay pilgrimage to their cult heroes.

San Diego's Comic-Con runs from July 11-15.

Events at this year's pop culture festival include panels for The Hobbit, Twilight, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who and fan events for Buffy The Vampire Slayer and sci-fi classic Firefly.
