The broadcast was higher than Monday's airing, and was also an 11% increase from the equivalent day in 2008's Olympics.
Tuesday's audience saw an 18-49 demo rating of 9.3 and 29.58 million viewers on average between 8-11pm.
However, it was 24% lower than last Tuesday's high ratings.
Elsewhere, The CW's LA Complex fell a massive 50% from last week to a series low of just 0.1 (0.41m) at 9pm.
ABC's NY Med rose 17% from last week to 0.7 (2.62m) at 10pm.
Continuing the trend during the Olympics, the rest of the evening was taken up with repeats.
The highest rating for a rerun went to CBS's NCIS, which attracted a 1.0 rating and 6.72 million viewers at 8pm.
