Howard served as the narrator for the first three seasons of Arrested Development, before appearing on-camera in the final episode to hint at an eventual movie.
The producer has revealed to CNN that he has been asked to make another guest appearance on Arrested Development, which started shooting last week.
"[I'm] told that I'm going to have to make an appearance as I did in the last episode of Arrested Development - I'm showing up again at some point," he disclosed. "So, I'm going to have to film that soon which will be kind of fun. Usually I'm a little too busy, but, with Mitch [Hurwitz, creator] and Arrested Development, it's irresistible."
Howard also stressed that he has total confidence that the new Arrested Development will live up to its critically acclaimed legacy.
"Mitch Hurwitz firmly has Arrested Development under control. [As a producer] I might read a script here and there and throw in my two cents but mostly my job is to be the narrator," he said.
Howard also recently promised that Arrested Development's new episodes will be "fearless".
Arrested Development streams its fourth season on Netflix in the UK and the US in 2013.
