The Big Love actress will make her debut on season three as Alexandra, a new roommate of series leads Fred Armisen (Fred) and Carrie Brownstein (Carrie), reports Entertainment Weekly.

Since Big Love ended, Sevingy has appeared in other television series, most recently the UK six-part drama Hit & Miss, in which she portrayed a pre-op transsexual assassin named Mia.
Sevigny can be seen next in American Horror Story: Asylum, playing a character named Shelly the Nymphomaniac.
Season three of Portlandia will premiere in January 2013 on IFC.
