Sulieman will play Clint - the Republican brother of Rocky (NeNe Leakes) - according to Deadline.
In addition to playing Nate St Germain on Pretty Little Liars, the 28-year-old actor has appeared on 24 and The Vampire Diaries.
The New Normal premieres on NBC in the US on Tuesday, September 11 at 9.30/8.30c.
The series will air on E4 in the UK. It has sparked anti-gay protests in the US, with NBC's Utah affiliate KSL-TV refusing to air the show.
