Seth MacFarlane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Daniel Craig for 'SNL'

Seth MacFarlane is to host the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, it has been announced.

The Ted star and Family Guy creator will be joined by musical guest Frank Ocean on the September 15 opener.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt makes his second SNL appearance on the September 22 show, where the music act will be Mumford & Sons.

Skyfall's Daniel Craig debuts on Saturday Night Live on the October 6 show. Muse will appear as well to perform tracks from The 2nd Law.

A full cast announcement has not yet been made, although it is known that Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Abby Elliott will not return this season.

Jason Sudeikis has hinted that he may sign up for a ninth season if he is given a larger creative role on SNL.

Saturday Night Live will air two primetime election specials on consecutive Thursdays - September 20 and September 27.
