Nate Torrence (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) and Kevin Weisman (Alias) will both appear opposite Merchant in the comedy, Deadline reports.
Hello Ladies - loosely based on Merchant's stand-up tour of the same name - will star the English comic as an unlucky-in-love loser searching for the woman of his dreams in Los Angeles.
Torrence will play Merchant's best friend Wade, who reluctantly returns to single life after separating from his wife, while Weisman has been cast as the "obnoxious" Kives, who is able to charm women with ease.
The Office co-creator Merchant will executive produce Hello Ladies alongside Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (Bad Teacher). The pilot is expected to shoot in late 2012.
