The singer and coach for The Voice recently launched a new production company, Emerald Productions.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emerald Productions has signed a first-look deal with NBC for the Gnarls Barkley star to develop, produce and star in his own scripted and unscripted projects for the network.
One such project Green has been working on is a multi-camera comedy loosely based on his own life, showing his troubles balancing his home life and career as a producer and recording artist.
NBC is developing a trend of signing recording artists for television projects, with Ricky Martin attached to a similar deal in July, and John Legend also being offered a similar contract.
NBC announced yesterday that The Voice will be shown opposite The X Factor on US TV, a move Simon Cowell described as "cynical".
