Lifetime has given the green light to two new hour-long pilots, including one from 24's executive producers.
The Madness of Ava will feature Ever Carradine, recently seen playing Kelly in ABC's short-lived Commander in Chief, as a neurologist diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. Based on a true story, the show is from Ellen writer Rob LaZebnik and 24 executive producers Howard Gordon, Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran.
The Virgin of Akron, Ohio follows the story of a woman who returns to her hometown after a period in rehab to do community service. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the twist in the show is that she becomes a celebrity after people claim she was visited by a vision of the Virgin Mary after being involved in a car accident. Northern Exposure's Jordan Budde served as writer on the pilot.
