Amandes is set to play Governor Reston, whose first lady will be played by Brenda Strong, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Both Amandes and Strong previously appeared on the WB/CW series Everwood, and will now be joining their Everwood co-star Debra Mooney on the ABC drama.
Amandes played Dr Harold Abbott, while Strong appeared in flashbacks as the late wife of Treat Williams's character.
Mooney will play a Supreme Court Justice in multiple episodes on the new season of Scandal.
Season two will premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 10pm ET on ABC.
