Charlie Hofheimer has been cast in a recurring role on Private Practice.

Hofheimer will play a father whose daughter goes missing from the hospital, reports Deadline.

The 31-year-old actor has previously appeared in many television shows, including Mad Men - as Abe Drexler - The Good Wife, Without a Trace and House.

In the new promo for the sixth season of Private Practice, lead character Addison (Kate Walsh) must decide between Sam (Taye Diggs) and Jake (Benjamin Bratt).

Walsh will leave Private Practice at the end of season six but has suggested that the show will survive after her departure due to solid writing and characters.

Season six of Private Practice premieres on Tuesday, September 25 at 10/9c on ABC.
