The Dick Wolf-produced series, which launches in the US on NBC next month, is the latest Sky Living acquisition this season. Its previous big signing was Sherlock Holmes reboot Elementary.
Chicago Fire, which is being helmed by Wolf (Law & Order) and Derek Haas and Michael Brandt (3:10 to Yuma), follows the men and women of Chicago Firehouse 51 and their courageous actions, which can make the difference between life and death.
The series stars former House and Neighbours actor Jesse Spencer, Lady GaGa's boyfriend Taylor Kinney, Teri Reeves, Eamonn Walker (Oz), Gabriela Dawson (The Good Wife), Peter Mills, Leslie Shay, and Christopher Herrmann.
Antonia Hurford-Jones, acting director at Sky Living, said: "I'm delighted to be offering our customers such a compelling and brilliantly produced drama. As with all our US drama, the fantastic storytelling and really engaging characters make it perfect for Sky Living HD."
Sarah Wright, controller of acquisitions at Sky, said: "It's fantastic to be adding another high-quality, fast-paced US drama to our slate of US acquisitions. We're committed to bringing our customers the best in US programming and think Chicago Fire with its strong cast and fantastic talent behind the camera will really resonate with the Sky Living audience."
