Parker revealed to Elle that she doesn't want to star in a movie where she'll be playing a version of her popular character Carrie Bradshaw.
The actress played the fashionista Carrie on HBO's Sex and the City for six seasons, spawning two films.
She said: "I don't love the idea of playing another woman who loves fashion and is slightly flawed in New York City. I loved Carrie, and I don't want to do the poor man's version of her. And while those are often the lucrative things to do, it's more reason to look in the other direction."
Since Sex and the City, Parker has appeared in several movies like New Year's Eve, I Don't Know How She Does It and The Family Stone.
Meanwhile, Carrie will return to the small screen when the CW premieres The Carrie Diaries next year, starring AnnaSophia Robb as a high school-aged Carrie.
