Celebs face their fears on “Fear Factor???
Published Thursday, Nov 1 2001, 20:40 GMT | By Audrey Bowerman
The stars will come out for a special celebrity edition of "Fear Factor" as Kelly Preston ("Jerry Maguire"), David Hasselhoff ("Baywatch"), Grammy-winner Coolio ("Gangsta’s Paradise"), Brooke Burns ("Baywatch"), Joanie Laurer (formerly known as Chyna with the World Wrestling Federation) and Donny Osmond face their greatest fears for charity.
The show pits real people against each other, extreme challenges, and themselves in the hope of taking home a cash prize at the end of each episode. Like their predecessors, the celebrities come face-to-face with their worst nightmare situations.
In this special edition, each celebrity received $25,000 to donate to a charity of his or her choice, with the winner receiving the usual $50,000 for charity. The charities selected to benefit from the daring deeds of these stars are: David Hasselhoff, The Mayor's Twin Tower Fund and United Way Sept. 11th Fund; Brooke Burns, WTC School Relief Fund; Donny Osmond, One Heart; Joanie Laurer, Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund; Kelly Preston, New York Police & Fire Widows & Children's Benefit Fund; Coolio, Heritage Begins Within.
The episode -- which has been expanded an extra seven minutes to contain all of the celebrity challenges -- will be broadcast Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 8-9:07 p.m. ET.
