HBO has given the go-ahead to a new medical drama pilot to be executive produced by Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams.
The as-yet untitled project will follow hospital patients fighting cancer - from the patients' point of view, and has been developed internally at HBO by writers Tom Schulman and Rafael Yglesias. The Hollywood Reporter indicates that the pair will executive produce the drama alongside Abrams, who is also in negotiations to direct.
