Production on the nineteenth season will begin in the coming months for transmission at the end of the year.
"We are extremely thrilled to be bringing the show to Australia for its 19th season," said co-creator Jon Murray. "Australians are fun-loving people who love to party so The Real World cast should feel right at home!"
The Real World has travelled abroad twice in the past: the fourth season (1995) was set in London and the thirteenth (2003) in Paris.
The current incarnation - based in Denver, Colorado - ranks as the most-watched show amongst 12 to 24-year-olds in its Wednesday, 10pm timeslot.
