Marion Edwards has been promoted to the role of president of international television at 20th Century Fox TV Distribution.

Edwards, who has overseen the distribution of programmes to international free-to-air broadcasters in her former role as executive vice president at the company, will now expand her remit to cover pay TV. She will also be responsible for developing series for pay TV distribution around the world.

"I have spent nearly all of my career in the international television business and I love it," said Edwards. "This is the most exciting time in history to work in television and I am very happy that responsibility for pay TV has been combined with our other activities in broadcast and basic cable as well as production."

Edwards has worked at 20th Century Fox TV Distribution since 1992.
