The 'American Idiot' band are said to have allowed several tracks from their new album trilogy ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tre! to be used in an upcoming episode of the CBS cop drama.
The songs will be used to help narrate several action sequences in an episode about the murder of a political candidate, reports CBS Local.
"We were stoked when we found out CSI:NY wanted to use our music instead of dialogue to narrate the first few acts of the episode," a statement from the band said.
"It's the first time something like this has been done on the series, and we are blown away with what we've seen."
Tracks for the episode will include 'Stop When The Red Lights Flash', 'Amy', 'Night Life', 'The Forgotten' and 'Kill The DJ'.
The episode in question will air on Friday, October 19 on CBS.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong recently entered rehab for substance abuse, shortly after a public meltdown on stage at a Las Vegas gig.
Green Day released their latest album iUno! last month, while the second LP of the trilogy ¡Dos! will be out on November 12, followed by ¡Tré! on January 14, 2013.
