Louis CK's self-titled critically acclaimed US comedy series has finally found a home in the UK on the rebranded broadcaster Fox.

Louie follows the trials and tribulations of a 42-year-old divorcee trying to navigate through life and is loosely based on Louis CK's own experiences as a stand-up comedian and father of two daughters in New York.

The show centres on the comic's everyday ordeals and mixes his stand-up material with scripted shorts.

Special guest cameos have included Jay Leno, Chris Rock, Joan Rivers, Ricky Gervais and Jerry Seinfeld.

Three seasons of the show have aired in America and a fourth has been commissioned for early 2014.

Other new shows arriving on the expanded Fox channel are TBS sitcom Men at Work, season two of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret and The Rikki Lake Show.

The new acquisitions join the channel's current US hits Dexter, The Walking Dead and American Horror Story.
