Ellen DeGeneres: 'I loved being spoofed on Saturday Night Live'

By
Ellen DeGeneres has reacted to being spoofed on Saturday Night Live last weekend.

SNL's Kate McKinnon played DeGeneres in a sketch which saw the chatshow host continue her signature dance routine until she was exhausted.

The presenter shared her thoughts on the SNL skit with her studio audience on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday (November 13).

"I like to watch Saturday Night Live on the weekends… I watch it every weekend and I think it's a great cast this year," DeGeneres commented. "As a celebrity, you kind of watch with trepidation because you don't know… if they're going to do you or not."

She then quipped: "[The comic's] name is Kate McKinnon and she's really funny. I'm going to invite her to LA because I want her to go to Thanksgiving for me."

DeGeneres also admitted that it was odd to see herself spoofed on NBC's long-running sketch series.

"It was fun to watch, but it's weird to be impersonated," she said. "You look at it going, 'Really? Do I sound like that?'"

DeGeneres hosted Saturday Night Live in December 2001 in an episode in which she appeared in a variety of holiday sketches.

Saturday Night Live continues this weekend at 11.30/10.30c on NBC.
