Adam Levine, Justin Bieber lead People's Choice nominations

Adam Levine and Justin Bieber have garnered the most People's Choice Awards nominations.

Levine earned a nod for 'Best Celebrity Judge' for The Voice and was also recognised with his band Maroon 5 in the 'Favourite Band' and 'Favourite Song' categories.

Bieber earned five nominations overall, including 'Favourite Album' for Believe and 'Favourite Music Video' for 'Boyfriend'.

The Avengers took in several nominations in the movies categories, with stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans all being recognised for 'Favourite Action Movie Star'.

Channing Tatum is competing for 'Favourite Movie Actor' with Johnny Depp, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Will Smith and Downey Jr. The nominations announcement comes on the heels of Tatum being named People's 'Sexiest Man Alive'.

Doctor Who also garnered a nomination in the 'Favourite Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Show' category, where it will compete against Once Upon a Time, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead.

Kaley Cuoco hosts the 2013 People's Choice Awards, airing live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on January 9 at 9/8c.
