Jennifer Esposito has again hit out at CBS after being cut from cop drama Blue Bloods.

The actress - who plays Detective Jackie Curatola - suffers from Celiac disease and was placed "on a leave of absence" by the network, which judged her "unable to perform the demands of her role".

"What happened was ugliness," Esposito said on Fox News Channel's FOX Files last night (November 18). "So many things of injustice that happen in this business. It's what you sign up for.

"This, though, is something that is not about me, I feel. This is about a disease that people don't understand. And what went on [here], it makes me sick."

Esposito previously revealed that, prior to her suspension, CBS had refused to scale back her workload on Blue Bloods, which led to her collapsing on set.

"The [assistant director] came in and said, 'I'll get the medic', and we were like, 'There is nothing [to do], unless he can cure me of Celiac disease'," she elaborated on FOX Files.

"They had to carry me into the car and bring me to the doctor, where I [was] for seven hours."

Blue Bloods airs on Fridays at 10/9c on CBS. In the UK, the series airs on Sky Atlantic.
