Joanna Lumley has spoken of her deep admiration for her New Avengers co-star Gareth Hunt, who died on Wednesday of pancreatic cancer.
"We started off as friends in The New Avengers and remained that way for more than 30 years," Lumley said in a statement to the press. "I loved him so much."
"We shared so much laughter - we were constantly in hysterics making the Avengers. We had enormous fun," continued the Absoultely Fabulous star.
Lumley then revealed that she met up with the ailing actor just last month, as he neared the end of his two-year battle against the illness: "I went out with him for his birthday in February. He was pretty frail but still hysterically funny."
