Lindsay Lohan explains cancelling Barbara Walters interview

Lindsay Lohan has explained why she recently cancelled an interview with Barbara Walters.

Lohan was to appear on 20/20 for a sit-down with Walters, but the Mean Girls star ultimately pulled out and agreed to a Tonight Show chat instead.

Walters reacted on The View by claiming that Lohan's PR team was "unhappy with the tone" of her hard-hitting questions about the star's personal problems.

Lohan addressed the controversy when she was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday (November 20).

"You know, it's just the timing wasn't right," she explained. "I love her."

Lohan continued: "I'm a big fan of Barbara Walters. I met her when I was very young. So when it's right, she knows she'll be the first person I sit down with."

Walters has expressed interest in interviewing Lohan again in the future.
