Spielberg enters into comedy

US network Showtime is currently developing a half-hour sitcom from DreamWorks Television, based on an original Steven Spielberg idea.
The United States of Tara is about an ordinary-seeming wife and mother who happens to suffer from a multiple personality disorder.
Created by Diablo Cody, the writer behind Jason Reitman's Fox Searchlight film Juno, along with DreamWorks TV's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank, Spielberg has yet to decide what credit he will take in the project.
The pilot is believed to show off at least two of Tara's alter egos, a lascivious teen girl and a macho adult man. Producers envision the title role as a "tour de force" for the right actress.
