NBC has ordered a pilot for Welcome to the Family, a new reality show about couples from different cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds who are getting engaged.
The Hollywood Reporter indicates that the project is being worked on jointly by Bernie Mac's MacMan Entertainment and Ben Silverman's Reveille. Mac will serve as narrator during the show.
"It's all about falling in love, family and learning how to accept someone despite cultural, economic or social differences," Silverman explained. "We are thrilled that NBC is once again taking the lead in supporting innovative programming, just as it did with our hit shows The Office and The Biggest Loser."
