The 'Boyfriend' singer initially hinted that he would be a guest star on NBC's late-night series in a New Year's message to fans, writing: "2013. what's coming? #snl???"

Bieber further addressed the speculation that he will host the Valentine's Day show on Monday (January 7) with a coy message posted on his Twitter account.
"Maybe im hosting and performing on SNL...maybe," he tweeted.
NBC has not yet offered any official comment on if Bieber will appear on Saturday Night Live this season.
Bieber was initially rumoured to be hosting Saturday Night Live last season after Alec Baldwin mentioned the star potentially guest starring during a Here's The Thing interview with producer Lorne Michaels.

A hosting stint for Bieber during SNL's 37th season never came to pass, but he did appear in a pre-taped 'Digital Short' as part of Andy Samberg's send-off from the show.
Saturday Night Live returns with its first new episode of 2013 - hosted by Jennifer Lawrence and featuring musical guests The Lumineers - on January 19 on NBC.
