The CBS project - from The Shield creator Shawn Ryan - will star Brandon T Jackson as Aaron Foley, son of Murphy's Alex.

"He's in the pilot and he said he wants to come back multiple times during the first order [of episodes]," CBS president Nina Tassler told IGN of Murphy's involvement in the potential series.
Tassler also highlighted the changes that are necessary to adapt the Beverly Hills Cop franchise for television.
"Obviously, the language they used in the movie we can't and wouldn't use on TV," she explained. "For us, it's really about the juxtaposition of a guy who's a fish out of water in Beverly Hills. There's a lot of comedy on the Beverly Hills police force yet to be mined, so we're looking forward to that."

The first Beverly Hills Cop was released in 1984 - the film's screenplay was nominated for an Academy Award and two sequels followed in 1987 and 1994.
