Finneran has been cast as his self-obsessed sister, while Conor Romero (Person of Interest) will play Mike's college drop-out son, Deadline reports.

Burnaby's youngest 7-year-old son will be played by child actor Jack Goor - all three join Fox and the previously-cast Wendell Pierce (The Wire).

The comedy series - currently untitled - has been picked up for a 22-episode first season, with production expected to begin in New York later this month.

"It's an incredible show," NBC's President of Entertainment Jennifer Salke said at the recent TCA press tour.

"Michael came in and pitched us the show, and it's completely inspired by his life as a father and a husband and a family man who is grappling with his [Parkinson's] disease."

Fox's series will debut on NBC in fall 2013.
