Sci Fi Channel in the US has launched a WAP site as part of a 360-degree commissioning slate.
The channel is using the April 13 series premiere of Painkiller Jane, which stars Kristanna Loken as a DEA agent in search of people with superhuman powers, as a basis to launch the mobile service.
"With the launch of Sci Fi Mobile, the channel takes another leap forward in creating an innovative and interactive programming environment that our audiences have come to expect from us," said Adam Stotsky, SVP for marketing and creative at Sci Fi. "We felt that Painkiller Jane, with its built-in fan base, would be the perfect franchise opportunity to develop a truly multi-platform content experience."
Content available on the service ranges from video clips to ringtones.
